Textured Artworks

This are some artworks I created last year, for the Crea8 exhibition at the Highfield's Cultural Centre. They were lots of fun and I really enjoyed just being in the moment of letting the flowers do their own thing. I crocheted wire and yarn together .... made it up as I went along. Interestingly enough the 4 flowers sold...and I feel are dearly loved by the owner. I'm wanting to incorporate more texture into my art again, I feel this really is the true essence of me and my art. Through wanting to embrace my love of textiles, fabric, embellishments I uncovered or realised I had a belief that textured art doesn't sell, (I've already proved that one wrong) and that it boarders on acceptance of craft.... then this artist came to mind..Kaffe Fassett. He is an amazingly multi talented man. And so I began to dispell my beLIEf! and began accepting.

It was great to revisit these pieces. It will be interesting to see how this transforms into my next artworks. Ah, it's all good.

To honour my inner self's need for Fun and
Play, today I will.....
