ok, so you know how much I love hearts..anything heart shaped and lovely. my hubby tells me I'm obsessed.but hey what a great thing to be obsessed with! I love its universal symbolism.

I been working on some art for a new workshop and its all about thready goodness and fabric to delight the senses. My creative memory was given a shake after creating these hearts for a swap And they were inspired by some tactile pieces from my past artworks. hearts in action

the devastation of the floods has really hit Queensland. unexpectedly. yesterday flash floods went through Toowoomba...some of our family + friends were right in the thick of the flood waters.thankfully they are all present and accounted for......thankfully the Universe was watching over them.

we've already seen so much of the flood waters on tv. there is so much water in so many places its hard not to be watching. it does get to a point where we switch off, literally, to look after our own spirit or stitch off in our heads and go on with life as usual.

Today I'm asking you to put your hearts into action. yes stitch off the news if its disturbing + overwhelming but don't switch off your heart. Truly Queensland + its people need a lot of love.Many, many towns have been effected and if we can send a little love, physically, emotionally, spiritually it can make a difference.

So what action am I asking you to take?

Every time you hear about the flooding in Queensland instead of going into pity, fear, sadness or whatever it brings up for you, send some love from your heart. See it energetically reaching the Sunshine state and spreading to all those who need it. Like attracts like and the power of love can do amazing things.

i love my creative life

my heart shape piece of wood I found on my early morning walk.There it was on the road...perfectly smooth like it had been on the beach.

I see this one every day, an oil leak from one of the builders truck around the corner. I am amazed where these hearts pop up from time to time.

Today I am giving gratitude to my creative life. Lately I've not seen the forest because of the trees. So I shall take many moments today to feel grateful for where I am and what I am doing....and open my eyes to see the love around me.

understanding the bigger picture

today I have come into understanding. seeing the bigger picture. knowing why, on the larger scale of things. and my role in it. it doesn't take the pain away. but I know in my heart of hearts this is how it is meant to be. and that it is time for me to let go. gently, gently, softly, softly.

thank you to all my true, dear friends. sending love and light. its one of those life challenges that I shall get through and that I am learning for my Higher Good. Thanks Universe, this was a good one.

Often after my daughter has finished a painting project she will use up the left over paint to paint her own hand and print with it.....I can see she just loves the feeling and the squishiness! this was an amazing print from her hand....can you see the heart in the centre? Some stones and coral I found on the beach last weekend. A lovely day with my family. I feel quite honored and special finding these. I have seen many blogs photos of heart shaped stones, found on an inspired nature wander. I had never seen any on the beaches here...until Sunday. In the time I was one the beach I found about 11. There is actually an abundance of them, just needed to truly open my eyes.

What is working for me?

Feel the Love

Here are some serendipity hearts that i found during the week. The one above is from Mary's coffee at the Marina, and the one below is a piece of paper that blew onto Mary's lawn from the building site across the road.

Paper Heart in the Wind

I have had some reflection time this week and was feeling a little despondent, 'poor me', disconnected and some what inadequate. I am aware that there is energy in the Universe (astrologically) that is giving me the energy to work through these feelings. I had felt that my Sole Connection Challenge was a great inspiration....I had anticipated a 'sizable' response. However the Universe has other ideas/lesson in store for me, or so it seems.

I have had the wonderful pleasure of connecting with the lovely ladies who have had the inspiration to leave a message. Thank you for connecting. I have also realised that it is me who is wanting to reconnect, perhaps to the spirit within me and to others.

I've made a conscious decision to focus on what is working for me. And maybe part of that is to start writing in a journal at the end of the day..about what i felt good about, what worked for me and what success I've had during the day. No matter how small it seems.

So what does work for me?

A walk in the morning. Some Chi Gong exercise. Positive words,"It is who I am that makes a Difference". A cup of Chai tea in my favourite cup. A gluten free treat on my special plate. Yoga exercises for my heart and throat charkas. My feet in the air. Fruit. Acknowledging what I've already achieved. Listening to my music. Being in touch with my art supplies and my images.....

I'm sure there is more to add to the list, but for now I'm going to remind myself that i'm doing ok. I am moving forward, even on the days where i feel there is no progress I'll acknowledged that is progress in itself.

For sometime now i have been feeling inspired by kellie rae's hearts.....i really felt that i would also love to capture images of hearts that happen around me. what an affirmation of love!!!!

Textured Hearts

I created these 2 works sometime ago, but had never photographed them. They are both very textured and 3 dimensional......free form weavings.I'm not sure if there is such a thing, just one of those creations that happened on its own.Lots of stitching, vintage lace and fabric, buttons and interesting yarn wrapped and sewn on a wire frame. Both are available as cards and prints at my Red Bubble.

This week I've been painting ALOT! And the last few I've created are based around heart shapes....imagine how amazed I was when I saw this in my paint jar!

And yes I dip my paint brush straight in the colour...
