It's been some time since I've felt like painting...until yesterday afternoon.... I'm making a conscience effort to have fresh flowers in the house. There are a few in the garden at the moment and the one above is a beautiful double hibiscus. It was the first flower I ever painted from our garden...which became the first painting I ever sold. Well it has inspired me again, this time with collage and paint. I took a photo of the flower and used that, not because I couldn't paint it but because I wanted to use a number of different mediums and techniques.The shapes coming off the flower are the off cuts, and I love playing with positive/negative shapes. I had fun playing. Let see what it leads to...
