I'm so sorry you are, but happy that you can think philosophically about it, and that your family is all together. We've experience hurricanes, and had a harrowing drive back after evacuating. We evacuated to a city 5 hours away, but the hurricane followed us up there. When we left, local roads were covered with fallen trees, and I was detoured to unfamiliar roads. I was hurrying to get back before the curfew in my county -- if I didn't get back by sunset, they wouldn't let me in. I had two children in the car, my husband was back in our town because he is a firefighter and couldn't evacuate, and I felt such a huge responsibility to keep them safe. We made it back just in time, and I burst into tears when I saw the condition of my neighborhood -- no roofs on any houses, huge debris piles from fallen trees, and no electricity. But we survived. I could fill a book with our hurricane stories, since that was the first of 3 devastating hurricanes we had in 1 year. Good luck to you and your neighbors.Suzannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14698067676022598868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30582632.post-19176655160399708272011-01-10T10:24:38.559+10:002011-01-10T10:24:38.559+10:00Thinking of you Nic, hope you make it though it al...Thinking of you Nic, hope you make it though it all ok. I guess we kind of take the weather for granted here in Tassie we have some bad bush fires but never flooding like this. Take really good care Nic. The eastern side of the country seems to be making up for the past ten years of drought. We have rain predicted every day this week. We don't mind though, while it's raining it can't burn. Good luck with your new direction, I know it will all work well for you.Ro Bruhnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08766616012470244040noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30582632.post-85846186743873289472011-01-10T08:48:59.601+10:002011-01-10T08:48:59.601+10:00No flood waters here Ali, but Maryborough has evac...No flood waters here Ali, but Maryborough has evacuated some biz.Lamington bridge is flooded....I've never seen So much water!Nic Hohnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10813297681512744134noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30582632.post-40703832162581697422011-01-10T08:41:32.729+10:002011-01-10T08:41:32.729+10:00Hi Nic, Have been thinking of you all in the Bay a...Hi Nic, Have been thinking of you all in the Bay and hoping all is well.
